How do I figure out 6c=__?__pt showing workSee my other response. =)Brooke,
You REALLY need to learn to do these systematically. Learn to watch the units, make the ones you don't want cancel, and keep the units you want for the answer.
looking at the site Writeacher gave you, you will find 2 cups = 1 pint. We want to convert cups to pints; therefore, 6 cups x conversion factor = ??pints. All you need to do is to determine the factor and use it correctly. You know the conversion factor is 2 cups = 1 pint. Substitute 2 cups = 1 pint for the conversion factor above. It will look like this. 6 cups x (2 cups/1 pint) = 12 cups2/pint. OOPS!! That isn't what we want. We want the answer to be something pints and NOT in cups2/pint. So lets turn the factor over like this and try again. 6 cups x (1 pint/2 cups) = 3 pints. Notice that the cups in the numerator of the first term cancel with cups in the denominator of the second term and the only unit left is pints in the numerator. Therefore, the answer is in pints and that's what we wanted. So we know we used the right factor. Every factor has two "positions" we can use. So we use the one that gives the units we want in the answer. A little practice and you will be able to look at the factor and know immediately which way it goes; i.e., as is or upside down. I hope this helps.
Sometimes I get confused with the inequalities. You have $47 to spend on music and movie downloads. Each album down load cost $7 and each movie download costs $8. Write and graph a linear inequality that represents this situation. Let x represent the number of albums and y the number of movies. Is the answer: 7x + 8y = 47 (with 47 less than or equal to.) Sorry I don't know how to write the more than or less than signs on your web page.Seen 11 months ago Ava Linda 1 answers

. On a day with no wind, a hot-air balloon hovers at a point above a long, straight river. On the west side of the balloon, a sailboat is spotted in the river at an angle of depression of 48o. On the east side, a canoe spots the between at an angle of inclination of 29o. The distance between the balloon and the canoe is 650m.Seen 12 months ago Adams 1 answers

What are the differences between linear and quadratic equations? How are these differences displayed in a graph? Write a brief scenario that can be modeled with a linear equation. Summarize a situation modeled by a quadratic equation. Are there equations that are neither linear nor quadratic? Explain.Seen 12 months ago Tremblay Morton 2 answers
A car travels due east with a speed of 42.0 km/h. Raindrops are falling at a constant speed vertically with respect to the Earth. The traces of the rain on the side windows of the car make an angle of 70.0° with the vertical. Find the velocity of the rain with respect to the following reference frames. (Enter the magnitude of the velocity.)
(a) the car
(b) the Earth
